CAN WE MEET WITH YOU PRIOR TO MAKING A BOOKING?
Absolutely, I even encourage it! I want to make sure I am the right fit for your day so I can capture your love in a way that is truly important to you, and have fun doing it.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
I have several base packages which were designed with my clients in mind - I took the most common requests and formulated these base rates accordingly. My clients priority has been receiving a digital copy, so all albums include a USB of high resolution images, as well as low resolution for easy online sharing, with no restrictions. Please refer to the “investment” tab of my website for more information, or contact me for more details!
DO YOU OFFER PRINTS OR ALBUMS?
Absolutely! I own a swanky professional photo printer and use high quality Ilford and PermaJet fine art papers - I LOVE doing my own prints, and having that complete control over the process is very important to me.
I also offer fine art albums which are completely custom designed (no templates here!) printed on gorgeous thick pages with a lay flat design, and made by hand using traditional bookbinding techniques. These high quality albums are crafted by Queesnberry in New Zealand. Pricing starts at $1,074 for an 8x8, 10 spread album (a spread = 2 sides)
WE HATE POSING AND GETTING OUT PHOTOS TAKEN, IS THAT OK?
I get this all the time, and many of my clients choose me for this reason. I want to keep people feeling relaxed and comfortable - the best photos come from genuine moments, not staged ones. I aim to document your day as it happens, offering direction as needed but always encouraging authentic interactions above all else - I have little tricks to help with this, and often have clients tell me that they forgot I was there taking photos (which is a huge win for me!)
WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE OUR IMAGES?
You’ll get sneak peeks within 48 hours of your wedding, and the whole gallery will be finalised in approximately 6-8 weeks (before delivery) however this can vary with peak season and life in general, but I’ll always keep you in the loop.
CAN YOU SUGGEST SOME LOCATIONS NEAR OUR VENUE FOR PHOTOS?
Absolutely - I’ll often go for a drive around a day or two before to location scout!
WHAT INFORMATION DO YOU NEED FROM US PRIOR TO THE WEDDING DAY?
Once you’ve decided to book in (yay!) I’ll send a Confirmation of Booking form to gather your details such as addresses, phone numbers etc. I will also require a running sheet for the day (when you have one!) and a list of family photos - this will be SUPER helpful for family portraits as it makes sure we don’t miss anyone and ensures an efficient (and painless) process on the day.
OUTDOOR PHOTOS - WHAT IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY FOR PHOTOS, WHAT IF IT RAINS AND HOW LONG DO WE NEED?
Probably the most frequently asked, and you can feel free to follow up with me for more information and to talk specifics with your schedule for the day.
Late afternoon light is my absolute favourite, especially the last hour before sunset (the Golden Hour) - it’s flattering, dreamy and just downright beautiful to shoot in.
Leave worrying about the weather to me - I have shot in ALL kinds of weather, and will constantly be seeking the best light, shade, shelter, etc for your photos. If I location scout before the day, I’ll always have some spots in mind if it happens to rain, or we can work with it as rain can make for some beautiful moody photos. If it’s overcast on your wedding day, you should be as stoked as I am - it’s the best possible scenario for day time photos.
If you are planning a winter wedding, I would suggest getting your hands on some clear umbrellas as well. If you’re in Melbourne I can supply some, but I am not always available to supply these if I am travelling for your day.
HOW DO WE LOCK IN A BOOKING?
I’ll hold your date tentatively until you are ready to make a deposit, and will give you 48 hours to lock in if I receive another inquiry for your date. Deposits/retainers are 25%, and are non-refundable - this is due to securing a future date which means I am closing off my books to any other inquiries. Along with a deposit invoice, I will email you a Confirmation of Booking form and a Contract to complete sign and return. The balance is due one week prior to the wedding.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU’RE SICK ON THE DAY?
Good question! I have photographed weddings without a voice and with a broken foot, and wouldn’t shy at adding some more to that list! In the situation that I’m not 100%, I will employ an assistant and/or second shooter to help out and ensure that your day is covered (at no additional cost to you, of course!)
If I’m absolutely not able to fulfill my duties as your photographer, I will make every effort to seek a trusted industry friend to shoot on my behalf, then I will still edit the images. I have a network of amazing photographers who are always ready to step in last minute, but if it comes to it and I can’t secure a replacement, you will receive a full refund (hell would have to freeze over before I let this happen!)
DO YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE?
Yep, $20 million. Let me know if you need me to send a Certificate of Currency to your venue.
